Aoibheann Carey-Philpott

SInce late 2020, Aoibheann Carey-Philpott has emerged as a bright new light on the Irish music scene and has been sharing brand new music over the last year or so.

With songs like "Overcome" and "Fragments of Joy" we were brought on a introspective journey through vulnerability, challenge and hope.

Following those first two releases, "Beginning of the End" explored new themes, it's inspiration found elsewhere, in the heady realms of desire and longing.

A transatlantic collaboration with US keyboardist & composer, Dave Palmer, on the Judee Sill classic, "The Kiss", lead to the release of that song in late Spring 2021 and neatly book-ended the first set of four solo releases.

With continued fallout from the global pandemic, Carey-Philpott used the time to dive back into writing & recording with friend and collaborator, Declan O'Luasa of Leftbank Productions.

2022 sees the release of new music, beginning with 'Running 'Round', a song that dares the listener to break the cycle of inertia and to seize the day!

As former lead singer with popular noughties band Jodavino , Aoibheann Carey-Philpott was highly regarded as a charismatic front woman and co-wrote many of the band's most popular songs with brother Joe.

In the intervening years, her talent as a choral director has seen the emergence of thriving Gospel music scene in Cork, with Aoibheann at the helm of two brilliant choirs - the Carrigtwohill Gospel Choir & the White Horse Gospel Choir. 

Emerald on Ivory -  this Celtic collective features piano virtuoso, David Syme, with Joe Carey and Joe Philpott on guitars and lead vocals from Anthony Cotter and Aoibheann. The group perform beloved classics from the Irish songbook, reimagined.
